HAELE-10 on February 2nd
We are thinking of producing an Asian edition of Altered Earth: Getting the Anthropocene Right, edited by Julia Adeney Thomas, tentatively titled Altered Earth in Asia.
HAELE will build on the past workshops to make use of the network of the newly expanded Asian Association of Environmental History (AAEH) to take the first step in this compilation process. We believe that the Anthropocene has complex time and tempo differences as well as transboundary nature of environmental issues. We would like to clarify various aspects of Asia as concretely as possible, and have decided to set up HAELE-10 as a meeting to discuss the future with the secretariat of the AAEH playing a central role.
It will be a Zoom high-flex meeting on February 2, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Japan time. Please join us, and we will provide more details, including the Zoom link, as they become available.
